3-Digit TSA Luggage Locks: Secure, Keyless Travel Protection

Traveling encompasses several factors that move together. There is airport security line navigation and flight connections. You do not want to deal with the challenges that come with small keysets or any concerns you might have about the safety of your valuables. Forge has designed security systems that incorporate strength without the challenges.

Our offering of 3-digit luggage locks is the perfect blend of security and convenience. Our locks, made in Wyoming and designed to endure the toughest environments found in global luggage handling, give you the flexibility of assigning your own combination, enabling only yourself and authorized members of the security team access.

Why Pick a Forge Combination Luggage Lock?

We founded Forge because we were dissatisfied with flimsy and inexpensive travel locks that broke on the very first trip. We feel that a travel suitcase lock ought to be a valuable consideration in terms of peace of mind.

Heavy-Duty Materials, Not Plastic

In contrast to generic alternatives available for purchase at airport ticketing machines, Forge Locks are made to withstand extreme levels of durability. With regard to lock materials, we use a 100% zinc alloy that is shock-resistant. Whether opting for cable steel lock products or steel shackle locks, customers purchase products that are made to withstand the conditions found in baggage carousels and transport aircraft cabins.

The “Set Your Own Combination” Advantage

For most people, a major concern with typical locks is key management. A combination luggage lock does not have the disadvantage of misplacing a key in a hotel room or a rented car. Our 3-digit combination enables a total of 1,000 combinations. You create a code that is unique and easy for yourself to remember in order to access your stuff instantly.

TSA Approved and Recognized

All locks in this collection are TSA locks, which means that each and every one sports the Red Diamond logo. This is a sign to the TSA and any other international security agency that a master key can be used on your luggage if need be without harming your locks and/or your zipper pulls.

Choosing the Right Lock for Your Gear

Our 3-digit collection comes with two different designs. The choice of the design depends on the travel bag you are using.

1. Flexible Cable Locks

The cable luggage lock is the most flexible choice we offer. This flexible steel cable with vinyl coating can pass through common zipper handles easily and also work efficiently in situations where rigid shackles cannot.

  • Best suited for: Multi-pocket backpacks, duffel bags featuring oversized zippers, as well as hard cases with narrow locks.
  • Feature Highlight: The dial in our cable TVs comes with an easy-to-read dial and a push-button mechanism that makes opening the dial easy, even in a dark hotel room.

2. Hardened Shackle Locks – Round & Standard

Those who want a traditional appearance with high physical resistance will love our alloy body lock with hardened steel shackles. This lock for luggage comes with a high visual deterrent and high cutting resistance.

  • Best suited for: Hard-shell suitcases, Pelican cases, gun cases, and instrument cases.
  • Feature Highlight: In select versions, for example in our "Open Alert" line, a red tip appears if a TSA agent has unlocked your bag using their master key, cueing you to check your belongings immediately.

Beyond the Airport: Versatile Security

Though these products are designed and made as luggage locks for global travel, they can be applied beyond the airline terminal. Durability qualifies them for everyday security purposes.

  • Gym and School Lockers - Secure your belongings during your gym or school activity instead of carrying around a key.
  • Outdoor Gear: Great for use in securing tent zippers or hiking packs.
  • Home Safety: Can be trusted to lock medicine cabinets, toolboxes, or storage units to prevent children from accessing contents.

Visual Security and Identification

It can be hard to spot your bag on a carousel, especially in a busy airport. Our line of locks is available in a broad range of colors, from our professional-sounding Jet Black to our brightly colored Orange, Green, Purple, and Blue. With a brightly colored, TSA-approved bag lock, you will not only protect your bag, but you will also be able to spot it quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions about 3 Digit TSA Lock

Can you show me how to change the combination on my Forge 3-digit lock?

Resetting a lock is a straightforward process. Generally, you want to set all the dials to the present combination (default is 0-0-0), press the reset button or the "shackle" (depending on the type), set all the dials to the new number, and then release. This is all detailed in our videos as well as our instruction sheets, all of which are included with all packages to ensure you can change the combination in seconds.

What if I forget my combination?

Due to safety reasons, the "master reset" switch is not on the lock. If that were the case, it would go against the very functionality of the product. We highly recommend recording your new combination or taking its picture just after setting it. If you forget your combination, you would have to try all possible combinations from 000 onwards.

Are these locks ideal for Pelican cases and gun cases?

Yes. Hardened steel shackle locks will work great on hard-shell cases. But do make sure to check the padlock hole size of your case. The standard size lock will work fine with most cases; if your case has very small or far-apart holes, then our cable luggage locks may work better since they offer more versatility.

Will TSA really relock my bag after inspection?

TSA agents are trained to relock bags after inspection. However, accidents happen. To solve this, Forge engineers designed our locks with a special mechanism: the agent cannot remove their master key from the lock until they have re-locked it. This ensures your bag never goes back onto the conveyor belt unsecured.

Will I be able to open them if I travel abroad from the US?

Yes, the Travel Sentry® System, which is the standard on TSA locks, is accepted by security organizations in over 50 countries, including Canada, Japan, Israel, South Korea, and the countries of Europe. Use of TSA approved locks on your luggage ensures a secure and accessible bag for security personnel worldwide.
