TSA Approved Cable Luggage Locks (21105 Series)
Secure. Flexible. Readable. Backed by a Lifetime Warranty. Designed in Wyoming for the modern traveler. The Forge 21105 Series uses a braided steel cable that is compatible with any zipper, gym locker, or hard case (Pelican cases included). The high contrast dials, combined with Travel Sentry Certification, make these locks the best peace of mind a traveler can buy.
Why Forge Created the 21105 Series
We are travelers, and so are you. Forge Locks were created in 2015 by a Wyoming family that had experienced enough lock failures and misplaced irreplaceable items. We recognized that what we typically considered "budget locks" lacked flexibility, readability, and resistance to a bolt cutter. We set out to design the 21105 Series lock that we wished to own.
4 Key Problems We Solved for You
1. The "Will It Fit?" Problem → Solved by Flexible Cable
The metal shackles are sometimes too thick for use with back pack zippers, or too short for hard cases.
- The Forge Solution: We employ a steel cable that is very tightly braided together with a vinyl sheath. It is as supple as a shoelace, but very resilient against cutting.
- Perfect For: Threading multiple zipper pulls, securing latch points on Pelican™ or Nanuk™ cases that are a little awkward, or fitting small lockers in hostels or gyms.
- Bonus Protection: The vinyl finish protects your high-value luggage, equipment, or case from scratching when using our lock.
"I Can't Read the Code" Problem → Solved by High Contrast
It is frustrating to read small, chrome numeric digits in a dimly lit hotel corridor.
Trying to read tiny, shiny chrome numbers in a dim hotel hallway is frustrating.
The Forge Solution: We created our dials with maximum contrast, white numbers against a black background (or vice versa). Read your code easily, even without your glasses or a flashlight on your cell phone.
3. "Did They Lock My Bag?" Problem → Solved by Relock Protection
The worst-case scenario is that the TSA folks might open a suitcase and forget to close the lock.
The Forge Solution: Our locks have a "Relock Protection" function. The master key that the TSA agent uses cannot be removed from the lock unless the agent decides to re-lock it. This way, your luggage is never left unprotected on the belt.
4. The "Cheap Lock" Problem → Solved by Alloy Construction
In most cases, inferior locks are made with plastics that crack when pressured.
The Forge Solution: The locks from Forge are made from a 100% zinc alloy with hardened steel internal mechanisms, which are robust enough to survive airport handling.
Compatibility Guide: Will It Fit My Gear?
The 21105 series is our most versatile lock. It has been proven to function with:
- Luggage Brands: Samsonite, Tumi, American Tourister, Away, Rimowa.
- Equipment Cases: Pelican Cases (such as Air Cases and Storm Cases), Nanuk, Seahorse.
- Daily Carry: North Face backpacks, gym lockers, laptop bags, golf travel bags.
- Firearms Safety: Compliant with TSA regulations for locking cases (hard-sided) for transporting firearms on airplanes.
Step-by-Step: How to Set & Reset Your Lock?
Note: The default factory code is always 0-0-0.
Step 1: Opening the Lock Turn the dial to the numbers 0-0-0 (or your code). Press the button on top/side to release the cable.
Step 2: Entering Reset Mode Find the small circular "Reset Button" that is located on the bottom or side of your lock housing. Press it in with a pen point or a paper clip until you hear a "click" sound. (TIP: It is meant to stay depressed on its own.)
Step 3: Set Your New Code Turn your dials to your desired 3-digit combination (for example, 1-2-3). Make sure your digits are lined up exactly with the line on your lock.
Step 4: Secure the Code Push the release button (the one you pushed to open the lock) once again. The Reset Button will come back out. Your new code is now set.
⚠️Important Troubleshooting Tip:
- ALWAYS test your new code prior to locking it to your bag.
- IF THE BUTTON WON'T PUSH: Make sure that the dials are exactly on the correct opening code. If they are a little centered, the reset button won't push.
